$150 Million MRFF Mission Opens Consultation on Health Inequities

New research mission from 2027–28
The Reducing Health Inequities Mission will invest $150 million over 10 years from 2027–28.
The mission will support research that looks at ways to reduce health inequalities among priority populations, including First Nations and diverse communities, people with disability and LGBTQIA+ communities.
It will also focus on improving access to health services that are safe, suitable and welcoming for people from these groups.
Public consultation now available
The Expert Advisory Panel for the mission is asking for feedback on a draft Roadmap and Implementation Plan.
These documents outline the proposed priorities and direction for the mission.
People can provide feedback through an online survey from 19 August to 25 September 2026.
Webinar to explain the proposed plan
A national webinar will be held at 3.00 pm (AEST) on 19 August 2026.
The session will provide an overview of the draft strategic documents and give participants an opportunity to ask questions.
Feedback received during the consultation will help the Expert Advisory Panel further develop the Roadmap and Implementation Plan.
