Dr Claire Arundell named next ACRRM President

Dr Arundell, who is based on Norfolk Island, will formally take over from current President Dr Rod Martin at ACRRM’s Annual General Meeting in October.
She has Advanced Specialised Training in Anaesthetics and has worked as an educator and instructor. She is also a former Chair of ACRRM’s Council.
Dr Arundell said she was honoured to lead the college at a time when Rural Generalists are playing an increasingly important role in rural and remote healthcare.
She said she wants to work with ACRRM members to strengthen support for the profession and continue advocating for Rural Generalists and the communities they serve.
Dr Arundell also highlighted the broad skills and expertise of Rural Generalists working across rural and remote Australia.
Outgoing President Dr Rod Martin congratulated Dr Arundell and welcomed the change in leadership.
Dr Martin said Dr Arundell brings experience, energy and a strong commitment to rural practice. He also recognised her contribution to strengthening the profession and supporting ACRRM members.
Dr Arundell will begin her presidency following the October Annual General Meeting.
