Key Updates in the 2026–27 Schedule

Annual Fee Update

Updated Professional Definitions

    • Audiometrist
    • Restricted Scope Audiologists
  • These changes recognise updated professional categories and align restricted scope audiologists with audiometrists.

Client Cost Changes

  • For fully subsidised devices, clients may be charged a maintenance co-payment listed in the schedule, unless it is waived.

Consent Requirements Updated

  • Text message consent must now include:
    • a clear link to terms and conditions, or
    • a copy of the agreement provided to the client

Data Breach Section Removed

  • Data breach requirements have been removed from the schedule to avoid duplication with existing service provider contract obligations.

Remote Control Items

  • Clients must not be charged for remote control devices claimed under the program.

Implementation Timeline

  • All updates take effect from 1 July 2026
  • There is no transition period, so providers must comply by the effective date

The 2026–27 update focuses on clearer definitions, streamlined compliance requirements, and updated fee structures. Providers are expected to implement all changes by the start of July 2026.
