North Hobart Hub Connects the Community With Free Support This September

The Hub is available to people aged 15 and over, as well as their families and support networks. People do not need to be receiving mental health care already to use the service.
What is available in September?
A range of organisations will visit the Peacock Centre during the month, offering different types of support.
Mental health education: Recovery College Tasmania will run free education sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Eating disorder support: The Tasmanian Eating Disorder Service will provide assessment, treatment and support for people aged 18 and over experiencing an eating disorder.
Housing and financial support: Housing Connect can help with housing-related questions and navigating the system, while an outreach Centrelink worker will also be available.
NDIS assistance: Mission NDIS will provide information about current NDIS processes and help people understand how to navigate the system.
Recovery and wellbeing: SMART Recovery will run an open group for people experiencing addiction. Community members can also join the drop-in Community Meditation Group.
Mental health programs: Anglicare Mental Health Recovery and Wellways will provide information and intake for their recovery programs.
Relationships and family support: Relationships Australia will provide information and intake for its programs. Baby Village will also offer a parent and baby/toddler group facilitated by Playgroup Tasmania.
Employment support: CVGT will provide support before and after job placement, while MatchWorks Job Network will assist people of all abilities to find meaningful employment.
Safety and specialist support: CatholicCare Safe Choices will connect people with domestic violence support. Open Arms will provide counselling and information for veterans and their immediate families.
People should check the September calendar for individual service dates and times and contact the Hub the day before to confirm availability.
The Mental Health Integration Hub is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Walk-ins are welcome, and no appointment or referral is required.
