Palliative Care Australia opens Board recruitment for two Independent Directors
27 May 2026
The national peak body says the appointments are an opportunity for experienced leaders to contribute to its work in improving palliative and end-of-life care across Australia.
PCA plays a key role in policy, advocacy, education and sector collaboration, with the aim of strengthening care outcomes for people with life-limiting illness.
The organisation is looking for candidates with strong governance experience and strategic leadership skills, particularly in areas such as board or executive leadership in complex organisations, financial governance, legal or risk management, philanthropy, or formal governance qualifications such as AICD.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate ethical leadership, strong communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to contribute effectively at board level. Experience in health, aged care, community services or the not-for-profit sector is considered an advantage.
PCA said it encourages applications from people with diverse professional backgrounds and perspectives that reflect the Australian community.
Appointments will be made under PCA’s constitutional and governance processes, and directors will be expected to take part in board meetings, committee work and strategic oversight.
Expressions of interest must include a cover letter and CV and be submitted by 5 pm AEST, Friday 12 June 2026 to the Company Secretary at PCA.
