RACGP invites patients to share their GP care experiences
20 Aug 2026
As part of the program, GPs and practice teams are being encouraged to identify patients who may be willing to share their experiences of GP care. The stories will feature both patients and GPs and will be shared with the wider community.
The initiative follows a submission selected at the 2025 RACGP Convocation. It aims to strengthen public understanding of general practice, build pride among RACGP members and highlight general practice as a rewarding career for future doctors.
The RACGP has also reminded members that nominations for the RACGP Faculty Elections close on Friday 28 August. Candidates will be announced on 7 September, when voting in contested electorates will also open.
Members and stakeholders are being asked to provide feedback on priorities for the 2028 Education Research Grant program. The program supports research into GP registrar training, clinical supervision, assessment, educational outcomes and training capacity.
GP26 attendees can also register for pre-conference workshops on Thursday 19 November. Topics include urgent care, menopause, weight and cardiometabolic medicine, practice ownership, chronic wounds and professional skills for rural GPs.
Other updates include an upcoming webinar on nicotine dependence, a national campaign focused on penicillin allergy assessment, and new resources to support GPs caring for veterans.
