Tenecteplase (Metalyse) shortage shelf-life extension expanded
We have approved a 12-month shelf-life extension of all Metalyse tenecteplase batches that have an original expiry date from January 2022 to March 2025. The extension does not apply to batches of Metalyse with an original expiry date before January 2022 or after March 2025.

Case of Meningococcal
A case of invasive meningococcal disease has been notified in an 11 month-old infant from rural South Australia. The baby has been admitted to hospital and is in a stable condition. The strain has been identified as serotype B

A new patient-centred approach to caring for cancer survivors
Cancer survivors don’t always get the follow-up care they need, according to specialist cancer nurse Professor Raymond Chan. To fix this, Ray is trialling a new nurse-led clinic to coordinate shared care between hospitals and GPs. He hopes shared care will give survivors a better care experience.
